DANIEL 1:5
[Daniel 1:5 NKJV] — And the king appointed for them a daily provision of the king’s delicacies and of the wine which he drank, and three years of training for them, so that at the end of that time they might serve before the king.
The king assigned a daily ration for them from his finest food and from the wine which he drank. They were to be educated and nourished this way for three years so that at the end of that time they were [prepared] to enter the king’s service. [Daniel 1:5 AMP]
There was a king who wanted his chosen servants to be as he is in many ramifications before they enter into his service. He would rather have his servants to be seen and treated as kings so that he himself would feel like a king of kings when those servants serve him. The king appointed for them to be serve from the king's table while training them to serve the king. Part of their training courses to serve the king was to be served with the rations the king himself is served with. They were to partake of the king's table even though they were not sitting at the king's table yet. They were to have table manners, table license, and eat of the king's food and drink, while getting trained and prepared to serve the king. And the training was to endure for about 1,100 days.
You will know you are feeding the King's servants the right training courses, the right food and the right drink, by knowing those were what the King Himself fed on. Feed them what the King fed on while training them to be the King's Servants — That's His Discipleship Lines. A servant is not greater than his Master, but a servant is called to be as his Master. A disciple is not greater than his Lord, but a disciple is called to be as his Lord.
If what you are feeding the King's Servants now were what the King Himself fed on, would the King have overcome the world, overcome sin, overcome Satan, and gone to the cross to save sinners? If Jesus Christ had only your Teachings, Doctrines, Messages, Prophecies and Books, to live by, what would Jesus Christ have become in this world? Perhaps Jesus Christ would have become like you or by you become a very foolish Christian that has acquired material wealth, family, business prosperity, married a beautiful wife, riding one of the best vehicles, perhaps aiming at political positions in the country, recognized by great men of this world and awarded/rewarded by the world, pay tithes, give fat thanksgiving offerings in December or fat firstfruit offerings in January, observe fasting in January, and sow money seeds through out the years for more financial blessings etc, and the cycle continue. But He would have become a spiritual fool, while becoming worldly great and meeting all church membership requirements.
But the Lord Jesus Christ was not like the pastor/priest of your church, neither did he feed only on the kinds of food, drink, training courses and Literatures, that your church pastors, prophets, priests, have fed you with. So the Lord Jesus Christ is not like you or your pastor/priest, and your lifestyle in this world is already very different from the Life Jesus Christ led in this world.
How would you sit close to the Lord and King in His Kingdom without you either drinking of the cup He drank of and without you being trained/tried/baptized with the baptism He was baptized with?
[Mark 10:37-39 NKJV] — They said to Him, “Grant us that we may sit, one on Your right hand and the other on Your left, in Your glory.” But Jesus said to them, “You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?” They said to Him, “We are able.” So Jesus said to them, “You will indeed drink the cup that I drink, and with the baptism I am baptized with you will be baptized;"
Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, required that his special servants to be recruited:
‡ to undergo the training he already had,
‡ to eat the food he ate,
‡ to drink of the wine he drank of,
‡ to be of royal seeds because he too was of a royal seed,
‡ to be wise and understanding multi-cultures and knowledge because he himself was wise and was an international man,
‡ to learn the language of the Chaldeans because he himself knew that language,
‡ etc.
He has not asked the Eunuchs to collect tuition fee from the undergraduates during the 3 years course. Rather, he made it a full scholarship for all the selected students with full assurance of job into the king's service awaiting them on graduation after interview or final exam at the king's presence.
What if the Eunuch, Chancellor or Vice Chancellor, began to demand for provisional fee, tuition fee, etc, as requirements for them to access the king's provisions? No, the Eunuch was faithful and feared the king, even to change the king's prescription in feeding Daniel who proposed different food and drink for himself apart from those which the king had.
But why are there pastors, prophets, apostles, general overseers, bishops, etc, who feel collecting from the students/sheep to give to the King (Jesus Christ or God) is part of their duty? Is the King more interested in collecting from His servants/students/sheep in the King's name or the King is more interested in giving to His Servants/Students/Sheep from the King's Provision? Whoever He's sending must be the one doing most of the giving, not the one receiving/collecting as Tax-Collectors.
[Luke 12:42-48 NKJV] — And the Lord said, “Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his master will make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season? Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes. Truly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all that he has. But if that servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and be drunk, the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. And that servant who knew his master’s will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.
The Lord Jesus Christ seeks the Simons that would feed His Sheep because they love the Lord Jesus Christ more than their selves and more than their own bellies. Those who would serve the flock of Christ with the same food the Lord ate and same cup the King drank of.
[John 21:15 NKJV] — So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Feed My lambs.”
