DANIEL 2:23

“I thank You and praise You, O God of my fathers; You have given me wisdom and might, And have now made known to me what we asked of You, For You have made known to us the king’s demand.” [NKJV]

I give thanks and praise to You, God of my fathers, for You have given me wisdom and power. Now You have revealed to me what we asked You; You have revealed to us the king's dream.” [FBV]

GIVE THANKS AND PRAISES TO GOD FOR WISDOM AND REVELATIONS

Wise men both give God thanks and praise God. Any wise man who do not acknowledge, thank or praise God, is advancing into becoming fool and darkened. As it is written,

[Romans 1:21‭-‬22] — because even though they knew God, they did not praise Him or thank Him, but instead their thinking about God turned into complete foolishness, and darkness filled their empty minds. Even though they claimed to be wise, they became fools.

There's great wisdom + light in thanking, praising, acknowledging and expressing gratitude toward God, as the Giver of whatever gifts or grace you have. In the top Bible verse above, Daniel was applying that Wisdom, which increased the light and gracia in him. It was a combination of both "Thanks" and "Praise" to "You God" from "I me;" wherein "I me" began from testifying or acknowledging "You God" as the Giver in the past of the existing "Wisdom and Power (Might)" that was in "I me;" and then also testifying or acknowledging "You God" as also the Giver in the present of the present "Revelation, Unveiling of Secrets and Answer to the prayer/request" made by "I me and we."

He remembered to confess or mention the exact "Prayer Point" he/they requested, to praise God when He granted that "Point." Be specific, confess the exact thing you asked and the exact thing God did or granted in connection to what you asked. Solomon ask for wisdom, and God gave him even what he did not ask for, but it's important that God gave him exactly what he asked for. God knows what you have need of before you ask Him, but yet He may not preempt your asking for it first so that when He does it you may testify as Hannah testified in the naming of Samuel, saying, "I asked God for this Son - Samuel" (1 Samuel 1:20). God gave Hannah other sons, but she specifically asked for Samuel, and that testimony made lots of difference.

Imagine asking someone for something with specific size, shape, manufacturer, color, etc, but the person brought you similar thing that was even more better, more beautiful or more expensive, as substitute for the exact one you requested for. It's not all the time you will be happy with such, especially when the exact one you asked for is the only one that perfectly matches the purpose or utility you intended. Imagine Samson's father-in-law giving the wife of Samson to another man, saying that Samson should take her sister because her sister was a better substitute since she was more beautiful than Samson's choice. I don't want to even go to what Laban did to Jacob by packaging the sister of the woman he requested for in marriage. But I have seen where someone showed picture of two presidential candidates, and pointed out, saying, this particular President was whom we the people ordered or requested for, but the this other one was whom the electoral body packaged and gave to us fraudulently.

When they brought Blind Bartimaeus to the Lord Jesus Christ, He asked him, "What do you want Me to do for you?" And the blind man answered, "Lord, that I may receive my sight" (Mark 10:51). It may seem unnecessary for the Lord to have asked him, but the Lord was wise in letting him mention his own prayer point. He had been shouting, "Son of David, have mercy on me" without being precise or specific about what exactly He wanted the mercy to do for him. I tell you there are other blind or sick people who if given similar opportunity will ask for "Money, Alms, Donations for surgery, or like the 38 years man by the pool, ask for a healthy man to carry him into the pool, etc."

Like Daniel,

[Philippians 4:6] — "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God."

But let's view this "Daniel's thanks and praise" for similar but more superior "Lord Jesus thanks and praise."

*1* According to Daniel:

"I give thanks and praise to You, God of my fathers, for You have given me wisdom and power. Now You have revealed to me what we asked You; You have revealed to us the king's dream.” [Daniel 2:23 FBV]

*2* According to the Lord Jesus Christ:

"At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank You, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hid these things from the wise and prudent, and have revealed them to babes." [Matthew 11:25]

Both Daniel and the Lord Jesus were doing similar things here, giving thanks and praise to God for revelation of secrets, which pertained to wisdom and the wise. However, here are three differences between how Daniel rendered  thanksgiving/praises to God and how the Lord Jesus Christ did His own.

*A* Daniel was thanking Him as the "God of Daniel's fathers" but the Lord Jesus Christ was thanking Him as the "O Father" + "Lord of Heaven and Earth." Who do men say that I am? The Lord asked; and God Himself may be asking, "You, who do you say that I am." It was Simon that answered that question correctly and got Blessedness of being called "Peter." Many still fail in this, "Who do you say that I (God) Am?" When they are praying, praising or communing with God. Imagine Christians and churches still singing this foolish singing this foolish and stupid song about whom they say God is, singing, "Ancient of Days, as old as You are, as old as You are, You will never change."

Daniel was gifted with wisdom, but he was still calling Him, "God of my fathers" — Daniel needed to upgrade to calling Him my Father, our Father, O Father, Lord God of present Heaven and Earth, not God of the past or God of the old ones.

*B* Daniel was only "First Person Pronouns" and "Second Person Pronouns" conscious in his thanksgiving+praises. It was all about "I, me, us" (himself and group) and "You" (God). But the Lord Jesus Christ was "First Person Pronouns"  "Second Person Pronouns" and "Third Person Pronouns" conscious in his thanksgiving. For there were "I" (Himself), "You" (O Father), and the third parties (Babes or others). So the Lord Jesus Christ was not just thanking God for revelations of God to "Me, I or us" but basically thanking God for revelations of God to "Others who were Babes, Humble, Peasants and not significant in the World."

*C* Daniel was only thanking God for revealing the secrets. But the Lord Jesus Christ was thanking God for both hiding the secrets from many great people and also for revealing the secrets to some other group of people who were like babes or children. Daniel did not mention the fact that God hid the secrets from other wise men, but the Lord Jesus Christ knew that detail is important. There are values increase in these revelations of God based on the fact that they are hidden to many, but revealed to few selected or elected. Not every eye must see it, not every ear should hear and understand it. Hide them from those ones, but reveal them to these ones. Keeping them secrets or confidential is also appreciated with revealing them to those worthy to know.

[1 Corinthians 2:9‭-‬10‭, ‬12‭, ‬14‭-‬15 FBV] — But as Scripture says, “No one has ever seen, and no one has ever heard, and no one has ever imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him.” But God has revealed this to us through the Spirit, because the Spirit delves into the depths of God. For we have received the Spirit from God, not the spirit of this world, so that we could understand what God so generously gave us. Of course people who are not spiritual don't accept what comes from God's Spirit. It's just foolish nonsense to them, and they can't understand it, because what is spiritual has to be properly examined. People who are spiritual investigate everything, but are not placed under investigation themselves.
