EZEKIEL 1:11
Thus were their faces. Their wings stretched upward; two wings of each one touched one another, and two covered their bodies. [Ezekiel 1:11 NKJV]
Such were their faces. Their wings were stretched out upward; two [wings] of each one were touching another [the wings of the beings on either side of it], and [the remaining] two [wings of each being] were covering their bodies. [Ezekiel 1:11 AMP]
Their Faces and their Wings were not under covering, but their bodies were under the covering of their Wings. Having four Wings each,
№ ¹· Above their Faces upwards: They used two of their four wings to keep in touch with each other and in touch with the Wind above their Faces, so that those two Wings serve also as Tentacles to them.
№ ²· Below their Faces downwards: They used their remaining two wings to keep in touch with their own body and to hide their nakedness in the covering of their Wings, so that those two Wings serve also as Garments to them.
Thus were the four Wings of each Râba divided into two groups according to those wings serving their purpose (function) above their head and according to those wings serving their purpose (function) below their head. It's favorable for the two Wings with upper function to be rooted in the upper region above the two Wings with downer function below the head.
Now understand the applications of their Wings: Until now someone would always ascribe flying to the most important need or work of wings. But that's not necessarily so. There are other use and priority function of Wings that may neither be inferior nor secondary to the use of Wings for flying, soaring or gliding. As you can tell, not all living creatures with wings can fly. There are birds that do not fly, though having wings. So what other basic function of Wings, apart from that of flying with the Wings?
Another basic function of Wings besides to fly or mount-up with wings, is that of covering precious things with those Wings.
*№*¹* — Give these Rabim four Wings, and watch as they would rather use two (50%) out of their four Wings for just covering precious things, and then use only the remaining two Wings for flying, soaring, mounting up, keeping in touch with one another and do many things with just the two Wings while reserving Two Wings exclusively for covering something very valuable to them. This valuable or precious thing which any of these Rabim would utilize 50% of their Wings to cover is their Body.
[Please don't ask me why these Living Creatures would be using half the entire grace of their Wings to just cover their body, whereas there are women and daughters of men who would rather exposed their nude or naked body and just use only ¼ (0ne-fourth) the clothing material of their body size to cover just a small part of their private parts). Supposing how much you cover something precious to you shows how much value you have for what you cover, then rate living Beings by the things and the much they cover things with their wings as Garments.
*№*²* — Give these Seraphim six Wings, and watch as they would rather use four (67%) out of their six Wings for just covering precious things, and then use only the remaining two Wings for flying, soaring, mounting up, keeping in touch with one another and do many things with just the two Wings while reserving Four Wings exclusively for covering some things very valuable to them. These valuable or precious things which any of the Seraphim in "Isaiah 6:2" would utilize 67% of their Wings to cover are their Face and their Feet. Two Wings exclusively for covering their Face, and Two Wings exclusively for covering their Feet. As it is written,
[Isaiah 6:2] — "Above it stood the seraphim: each one had six wings; with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he did fly."
*№*³* — Give these Cherubim, sculptured in Tabernacle of Moses or in holiest place of Solomon's temple, two Wings, and watch as they would rather use one (50%) out of their two Wings for just covering precious things, and then use only the remaining one Wing for flying posture, with just the one Wing while reserving one Wing exclusively for covering some things very valuable to them. These valuable or precious things which any of the sculptured Cherubim in "Exodus 25:20" and "1 Kings 8:7" would utilize 50% of their Wings to cover were the "Mercy Seat" and the "Ark of the Covenant." [Hebrews 9:5,4]
*№*⁴* — Give the Hen mother two Wings, and she would fly less with her wings and do more of covering her chicks under her wings. As it is written,
[Matthew 23:37] — "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those sent to her, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were unwilling!"
Behold what the Lord God Almighty would do to His Children with His Wings and Feathers:
[Psalms 91:4] — "He shall cover you with His Feathers, and under His Wings shall you trust: His truth shall be your Shield and Buckler."
