EZEKIEL 1:13
[Ezekiel 1:13 AKJV] — "As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, and like the appearance of lamps: it went up and down among the living creatures; and the fire was bright, and out of the fire went forth lightning."
As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, like the appearance of torches going back and forth among the living creatures. The fire was bright, and out of the fire went lightning. [Ezekiel 1:13 NKJV]
Still describing their "Likeness," you described their "Appearance." Is their appearance part of their likeness?
In the Bible verse above, it was attributed to the "Likeness" of these Living Creatures the "Appearance of Burning coals" which in turn has another "Appearance of Lamps or Torches," with the flaming Fire going to and fro, and up and down. The first bible translation above said "it went up and down" and the second bible translation above said "going back and forth." Hence to and fro (back and forth) and up and down, like Satan described his goings on earth before God in "Job 1:7." You may recall the "Flaming Sword" at the gate of the garden of Eden, and how that Flaming Sword turned all directions, to and fro, back and forth, and up and down, to guard the way to the Tree of Life.
The appearance is about the "Fire" in their midst, and these four points help me to describe the Fire that made up the appearance or likeness of these four Living Creatures:
‹¹›№ —|..... The Fire in their Appearance made their appearance to be like the appearance of Burning Coals, appearance of Lamps or Torches. This means they had the appearance of flaming fire, and yet they were like Lamps or Torches. As a mortal man, drawing closer to them would be like drawing closer to blazing fireworks of brilliant Lights or Combusting Stars.
‹²›№ —|..... The Fire in their Appearance went up and down, back and forth or to and fro in their midst. This means the Fire danced or rejoiced in the midst of these Living Creatures, in spectrals of excitements. It's like excited electrons constantly leaping from one energy level to another energy level, releasing sparks and energy rays. Thus, the Fire was highly energetic, kinetic, active, reactive and in constant motion. And as Light, the Fire danced or rejoiced, touching every gaseous particle within the field formed in the midst of these Living Creatures.
But why should that Fire or light rejoice and dance? It's because that Light or Fire shall not be quenched, extinguished, snuffed out or put out. As it is written,
[Proverbs 13:9 AKJV] — "The light of the righteous rejoices: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out."
‹³›№ —|..... The Fire in their Appearance was Bright. This means the Fire had both high saturation and far distance reach. The bright Fire is Brilliant.
‹⁴›№ —|..... And out of the Fire went forth lightning. This means the Fire is also Electric, creating electrical field, and hence the lightning bolts and sparks ensuing from the Dancing Fire. Just as excited electrons release electricity in changing energy levels, the activities of the Fire in the appearance of these Rabim shows the Fire is Electricity Fire, out of which goes forth Lightning.
As a mortal man, drawing closer to them would be like drawing closer to high Electricity Field with high voltage. Can you endure the Fire in their appearance within this your frail mortal flesh?
