EZEKIEL 1:27
And I saw as the color of amber, as the appearance of fire round about within it, from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about. [AKJV]
From what seemed to be His waist upwards, He looked like glowing metal with fire inside and everywhere around. From what seemed to be His waist downwards, I saw what looked like fire. He was surrounded by very bright light. [FBV]
Incase you are using "KJV" or a Bible version similar to the first one I cited from in the Bible verse above, it's important you know that such a Bible version referred to "He" (God) as "It." But I also cited another Bible version of the same Bible verse, where He was used to refer to the One on the Throne.
Remember, the Being was "Man-Like" but the Being was not "Man-Kind:" — You must therefore, differentiate both.
In this Bible verse, the Seer (Ezekiel) subdivided the whole Body of the "Man-Like" Being on the Throne into two parts according to the diversity of their appearances, and then rejoined them as one Body in one Brightness (Light):
*1* From "Its" or "His" Waist (Loins) upward — The appearance of the upper Side of the Man-Like Being on the Throne was like Amber (Glowing hot Metal), having Fire burning within Him. To simplify this, His upper Side from His Waist upwards was like a Lantern or Lamp that has the burning Fire inside the enclosure and the enclosure is glowing or showing forth the Light but covering the Fire. It wants to cover the Fire but does not want to cover the Light from the Fire. Is that not what Lamp or Lantern does? Covering the Fire but Exposing the Light from the Fire. That was how the upper side of the Man-Like Being was like.
Hence, this side of "Him" was burning inwardly as Lamp/Lantern.
*2* From "Its" or "His" Waist (Loins) downward — The appearance of the lower Side (Legs) of the Man-Like Being on the Throne was like Furnace (Burning Fire), having Fire burning outward (not inside/within) Him. To simplify this, His Legs from His Waist downwards were basically Flames without Lamp or Lantern to cover or hide the Flames of Fire like the Pillars of Fire.
Didn't John saw the Eyes of the Lord Jesus Christ as Flames and saw His Feet as Bronze burnt in furnace of fire? As it is written,
[Revelation 1:13-15] — "and among the lampstands was One like the Son of Man, dressed in a long robe, with a golden sash around His chest. The Hair of His Head was white like wool, as white as snow, and His Eyes were like a blazing fire. His Feet were like polished bronze burned in a furnace, and His voice was like the roar of many waters."
Hence, this side of "Him" was burning outwardly as a Furnace.
*3* Surrounding Its or His Entire Body was the Brightness or Light, very bright and far brighter than the Sun many times over. — Here are three Bible references to help describe this Brightness or Light:
—a— The Light is like a Garment covering Him. As it is written,
[Psalms 104:1-2 BSB] — "Bless the LORD, O my soul! O LORD my God, You are very great; You are clothed in splendor and majesty. He wraps Himself in light as with a garment; He stretches out the heavens like a tent,"
—b— This Light surrounding Him is unapproachable to man because of the Power, intensity and brilliance of this Light that shines brighter than all other lights in every realms. However, though this is the Strongest and most powerful Light, many times greater than the sun by far, yet even this strongest of Light could not expose Him that dwells in the Light for men to see Him. No light can reveal or expose Him, though lights basically expose or manifest all things except Him; and yet He is Light dwelling in lights, but with the Light He still cannot be seen. As is written,
[1 Timothy 6:16 BSB] — "He alone is immortal and dwells in unapproachable light. No one has ever seen Him, nor can anyone see Him. To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen."
—c— God is Light, and God is the Father of Lights: As written:
[1 John 1:5 BSB] — "And this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you: God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all."
[James 1:17] — "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no fickleness, neither shadow of turning."
Now let's ponder these:
Not about the Light aspects of Him, but about the burning or flaming aspect of Him.
Why is He always on Fire without fire-extinguisher? Why is Fire burning God Himself as if God is inside the Lake of Fire?
When we say God is a consuming Fire or devouring Fire, we also mean God is an "Everlasting Burning;" and the use of "Everlasting" here means the Burning is unquenchable and no fire extinguisher can put off the Burning that's part of who God is.
[Isaiah 33:14] — "The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness has surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the Devouring Fire? who among us shall dwell with Everlasting Burnings?"
Do not say God does not eat, because God is always eating and He is the greatest consumer or devourer in all realms as Burning Fire. He's a Consuming Fire or Devouring Fire because as Fire He is always eating or consuming something to keep Burning. Ask the scientists that know, and they would tell you that the sun is always in combustion reaction, meaning the sun is always burning either helium or hydrogen (I do not remember now) within it to stay as Radiating Light. Light is sourced from Burning or Fire. And Fire by default burns, which means eats or consumes to burn. If nothing feeds a burning fire as fuel, the fire has nothing to eat and therefore the fire dies and its light becomes darkness.
But are the things the Consuming Fire of God burns in God being wasted or burnt? No, they are not. They are burning, but they are not burnt. It's like the burning bush Moses saw when God first appeared to Moses, and he saw the plants burning but they were not burnt. But if Moses had drawn too close to it, Moses would have been burnt while the plants inside the Fire were not burnt.
