EZEKIEL 2:6
[NKJV]
“And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them nor be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with you and you dwell among scorpions; do not be afraid of their words or dismayed by their looks, though they are a rebellious house.
[BSB]
But you, son of man, do not be afraid of them or their words. Do not be afraid, though briers and thorns surround you, and you dwell among scorpions. Do not be afraid of their words or dismayed by their presence, though they are a rebellious house.
God sent the son of man into the midst of thorns and scorpions, knowing they are rebellious people armed with crucifying Thorns or Piercing objects like sharp teeths. But notice that God was not even arming the son of man (His Messenger) with armor of God or bullet-proof for protection, when sending him into the midst of human thorns and human scorpions, and terrorists who were rebels. Rather than arming the son of man with external armor or protection, God armed the son of man in his mind with instruction that charges or recharges, saying, "Be not afraid of them" or "Do not fear them."
So the Lord God Himself could send His messengers with weakness but without fear, or with vulnerability but without being afraid. God's Messengers are not to reason what those to whom they are sent would do to them or be capable of doing to them when enraged by their message, because as God's Messengers they must be ready to die or perish for their messages or gospel to live and thrive even among the rebellious and terrorists people. When you die for your message, you live through the message.
God does send messengers He made stronger and more powerful than those to whom He's sending them. But He wants those He is sending to go in their weaknesses and infirmities, and to appear weak and vulnerable in the midst of those to whom they are send without being afraid. There's nothing "Charismatic or Pentecostal" about embracing your weaknesses instead of strengths when going forth with the Gospel/Message, so that instead of demonstrating the Miracles or Power of God among the people you would rather be demonstrating wisdom in weakness and crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ among them. In written,
[II Corinthians 12:7-10 NKJV] — And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Paul had thorn in the flesh, for a messenger of Satan was sent to Paul to buffet him. But Ezekiel on the other hand was the messenger of God sent to go in the midst of thorns and scorpions with his flesh, though they may buffet him. When we are sent by God, it's not the Scorpions, Serpents or crucifying Thorns or Piercing objects like sharp teeths, that can stop our gospel or message of God. But the fear of these inside our mind is what usually prevent us. So the harness or armor His Messengers are to put on is that of their mind, not that of their physical or outer bodies. It's like being wise as serpents (inside the mind or heart) but harmless or armless as doves (outside or on the external).
[Matthew 10:16-20 NKJV] — “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils and scourge you in their synagogues. You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles. But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak; for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.
You appearing weak and vulnerable in the midst of them that appear intimidating and dangerous as serpents, scorpions, wolves, thorns, roaring lions, ravenous dogs, etc, is very important for the message or gospel you bear to them. This means you reflect the cross or Christ crucified in weakness before them, which is more powerful in mysterious ways those enemies do not understand. The best way to be stronger and overcome those who would kill against the Gospel is to be willing to die for the Gospel: this makes sense for Sacrifice whether as living sacrifice or dying sacrifice for the Gospel or Message you uphold with your life at stake. For sacrifice is recognized spiritually as Source and License for Powers, for Influence and for winning Cases in court/judgment spiritually.
No Savior like God the Lord Himself. Yet, even the greatest Savior, God, understands the importance of "Sacrificing" over "Saving" in this world because according to Him, Sacrificing in Obedience or for the sake of the Gospel/Message is the path to far greater Savings that endure forever. Else, how can the One who is the greatest Savior be sending His messengers into risks that may waste them or cause them to lose their lives? How is He the Savior when it does not appear He is saving His own Messengers or Disciples? Would you take advice from Someone who is acclaimed the Greatest Savior or Messiah, and yet He promotes that whoever shall save his/her life shall lose it but whoever shall lose his/her life as sacrifice for the Savior will save or keep that life forever?
[Mark 8:34-36, 38 NKJV] — When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”
The best form of saving life or saving money is making the right investment or right sacrifice with whatever you wish to save, not the tradition saving that is all about keeping what you have safe.
Safety in this world is not the best way to saving any treasure, rather wisely Sacrificing treasures for the greatest Savior Himself is the best way to true savings.
When you are the one keeping it safe, He (the greatest Savior) is not the one keeping it safe but you. That's appears like saving but it's not. Saving is what the true Savior keeps, not what human beings in this world keep. So we give our lives and substance to Christ when we surrender all to Him, and then hands-off from holding or keeping whatever we surrendered, sacrificed or given over to He who is the greatest Savior, God through Jesus Christ.
