EZEKIEL 3:2
So I opened my mouth, and He caused me to eat that scroll. [NKJV]
So I opened my mouth, and He fed me the scroll. [BSB]
EZEKIEL'S MOUTH |
Like the way people receive Holy Communion in some Orthodox Churches, when they open their mouths and the priest place the substance directly into their mouths or on their tongues without them receiving it with their hands first before putting it into their mouths to eat.
Ezekiel opened his mouth, and the LORD fed him and caused him to eat the Scroll, without Ezekiel's protesting or questioning what God was putting into his mouth to eat.
[Psalms 81:10-11] — "I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt: open your mouth wide, and I will fill it. But my people would not listen to my voice; and Israel would none of me."
Among all the great men of God in the scriptures, Ezekiel's Mouth was ranking among the most submissive and most agreeing Mouths to God. You may not find any where the Mouth of Ezekiel disagreed or protested against the LORD, because Ezekiel submitted and surrendered his mouth fully to the Obedience of God. It was so deep that God practically was in charge of when and how Ezekiel spoke or used his mouth, in a way that God had not used many other prophets or ministers of God. The only time it appeared Ezekiel differed from God was when God instructed him to eat shit or human feaces/excrement, and Ezekiel begged God to allow him eat cow's dung instead of human shit in the public. But apart from that, Ezekiel's mouth fully served and fully submitted to God's use. It got to a point when God use to make Ezekiel's mouth dumb or speechless so that he would not be able to speak to people when God did not want him to talk to any man. Then whenever God wanted him to talk, He would restore his ability to talk again and afterwards make him dumb, speechless or mute again.
At this level, no comparing of "Ezekiel's mouth" with "Moses' Mouth" or that of "Peter's."
Moses' Mouth began to provoke God to anger in the very first time God appeared to him in the burning bush, when he argued he was a stammerer and told God to send someone else instead of him. Peter's Mouth would keep arguing that what God cleansed was still unclean or common to him, even after God corrected him not to speak such against God's Sanctified Creatures.
Behold Ezekiel's mouth is fully opened or shut under obedience and submission to God fully. Amen.
Ezekiel was a man God could tell to go speak certain things, and when he would have said them, then his wife will die; and yet Ezekiel would go and say those things in obedience to God, and after his wife is struck dead the same Ezekiel would not cry or weep for her because God told his mouth not to do so.
