1 ADAM+EVE 1 - {The First Book of Adam and Eve}
Theme of Chapter 1: — The crystal sea. God commands Adam, expelled from Eden, to dwell in the Cave of Treasures.
1. ON the third day, God planted the garden in the east of the earth, on the border of the world eastward, beyond which, towards the sun-rising, one finds nothing but water, that encompasses the whole world, and reaches unto the borders of heaven.
2. And to the north of the garden there is a sea of wafer, clear and pure to the taste, like unto nothing else; so that, through the clearness thereof, one may look into the depths of the earth.
3. And when a man washes himself in it, becomes clean of the cleanness thereof, and white of its whiteness--even if he was dark.
4. And God created that sea of His own good pleasure, for He knew what would come of the man He should make; so that after he had left the garden, on account of his transgression, men should be born in the earth, from among whom righteous ones should die, whose souls God would raise at the last day; when they should return to their flesh; should bathe in the water of that sea, and all of them repent of their sins.
5. But when God made Adam go out of the garden, He did not place him on the border of it northward, lest he should draw near to the sea of water, and he and Eve wash themselves in it, be cleansed from their sins, forget the transgression they had committed, and he no longer reminded of it in the thought of their punishment.
6. Then, again, as to the southern side of the garden, God was not pleased to let Adam dwell there; because, when the wind blew from the north, it would bring him, on that southern side, the delicious smell of the trees of the garden.
7. Wherefore God did not put Adam there, lest he should smell the sweet smell of those trees forget his transgression, and find consolation for what he had done, take delight in the smell of the trees, and not be cleansed from his transgression.
8. Again, also, because God is merciful and of great pity, and governs all things in a way He alone knows--He made our father Adam dwell in the western border of the garden, because on that side the earth is very broad.
9. And God commanded him to dwell there in a cave in a rock--the Cave of Treasures below the garden.
[1 Adam+Eve 1:1] — ON the third day, God planted the garden in the east of the earth, on the border of the world eastward, beyond which, towards the sun-rising, one finds nothing but water, that encompasses the whole world, and reaches unto the borders of heaven.
Even though the sun was not yet made and setup by the third day, there was "East" and the "East" represented direction of "The Rising Sun." Beholding the East was related to beholding the Sun rise, the Sun ascending or the Sun getting exalted. There in the East was the Garden of Eden, the first Garden of God, which came before the Sun, Moon and Stars, came in the third day or the same day the earth was formed and separated from the waters of seas.
The first verse of the Book of Adam and Eve contained these 3 details about the Garden of Eden:
- The Author of the Garden of Eden – "God Planted"
- The Inception Date of the Garden of Eden – "In the third Day."
-
The Location of the Garden of Eden – "In the East and Eastward."
But that was "East of the Earth," not yet "East of the Garden." The Garden had its own East (Eastward), North (Northward), South (Southward) and West (Westward).
FEATURES AT EASTERN BORDERS BEYOND THE GARDEN OF EDEN
After the Garden of Eden, still heading Eastward to end of the earth, there was the borders of the waters of the seas, where all the waters under the firmament of heaven were gathered together in one place when the dryland was made to appear and called "Earth." Those waters of the seas surrounded the whole world, forming demarcation between earth and heaven.
[1 Adam+Eve 1:2] — And to the north of the garden there is a sea of wafer, clear and pure to the taste, like unto nothing else; so that, through the clearness thereof, one may look into the depths of the earth.
FEATURES AT NORTHERN BORDERS BEYOND THE GARDEN OF EDEN
After the Garden of Eden, still heading Northward, there was another sea different from the other seas. This northern Sea was transparently clear as crystal to the degree that a man could see through the waters of the sea to the ground base or see any living and sizeable fish or objects inside the waters of the sea. The purity of that sea makes it drinkable, unlike other sea waters that are either too salty or undrinkable by nature. This Sea contained "Pure-Water," "Clean/Clear Water," and "Drinkable Water;" and served as purifier or purifying water.
Behold, such sea of water shall be restored to saints: as it is written,
[Revelation 22:1-2] — "And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the middle of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bore twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations."
[1 Adam+Eve 1:3] — And when a man washes himself in it, becomes clean of the cleanness thereof, and white of its whiteness--even if he was dark.
Still on the features of the Northern side beyond the Garden of Eden, precisely the Pure and Transparent Sea, this verse reveals that the waters of that Sea were purifiers and bleechers. A man would not need any detergent, soap or chemical, to bathe in that sea. Yet, the waters would cleanse all impurities in man, including internal and external germs, and even bleach the man's skins from dark complexion into whiteness as Moses' face appeared after seeing God face to face.
[1 Adam+Eve 1:4] —And God created that sea of His own good pleasure, for He knew what would come of the man He should make; so that after he had left the garden, on account of his transgression, men should be born in the earth, from among whom righteous ones should die, whose souls God would raise at the last day; when they should return to their flesh; should bathe in the water of that sea, and all of them repent of their sins.
The fact that God created that Sea at the Northern side beyond Garden of Eden, proved that God already knew that Adam and Eve would sin, and mankind would be corrupted and defiled. So God made and reserved that Sea of purification for the saints, the righteous, elect ones, who shall be raised from the dead, for to renew and repurify their souls, spirits and bodies, again after/at their resurrection from their being dead when they bathe or go through that sea water of purification in the most important "Baptism." This Bath is Baptism because this is the Bath at resurrection from the dead, not the bath you bathe before you die or when you are dead as in washing your dead body.
This Baptism is greater than that of John the Baptist, for the remission of sins: for this Baptism is not in River Jordan, but in River beyond death, even in Living Waters of Life, called Waters Purification and Bleaching, even in the pure waters of life, clear as crystal.
[1 Adam+Eve 1:5] — But when God made Adam go out of the garden, He did not place him on the border of it northward, lest he should draw near to the sea of water, and he and Eve wash themselves in it, be cleansed from their sins, forget the transgression they had committed, and he no longer reminded of it in the thought of their punishment.
Even though the Water of Purification was there to restore everything that Adam and Eve lost by disobedience in sin, and that all they had to do was enter that sea and get baptized in it, then their sins would be erased and their nakedness addressed – yet God did not drive Adam and Eve towards that Northern side to enter that sea of purification, which would have been easier and swift correction. That was because God wanted His Word about Adam dying that day or tasting death for his disobedience, to be fulfilled.
Remember God knew Adam and Eve could have just taken of the tree of life and eaten, and that would mean they would live forever and not have to die anymore after eating the forbidden fruit. But instead of God to allow them eat of the tree of life to solve that problem, God rather drove them away to face their punishment and death for their sins, and He blocked all access to both the tree of life and the river (sea) of life, in order for the Word of God to stand and prevail over the necessities of human beings. There must be vengeance and judgment against sin though forgiven.
[1 Adam+Eve 1:6] — Then, again, as to the southern side of the garden, God was not pleased to let Adam dwell there; because, when the wind blew from the north, it would bring him, on that southern side, the delicious smell of the trees of the garden.
FEATURES AT SOUTHERN BORDERS BEYOND THE GARDEN OF EDEN
The features at the Southern side beyond the Garden of Eden include wind, aroma, scents, coming from the north and the Garden of Eden to the southern sides beyond the Garden. As it is written,
[Song 4:16] — "Awake, O north wind; and come, you south; blow on my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out. Let my beloved come into His garden, and eat His pleasant fruits."
- At the Eastern side beyond the Garden, there was ocean of seas surrounding the world.
- At the Northern side beyond the Garden, there was a single supernatural sea containing clear, pure, living, purifying waters for the spirit, soul and body, of mankind.
- At the Southern side beyond the Garden, there was access to anointed aroma, scents, perfumes, incenses, odors, refreshing air, etc, coming from the Garden of Eden, from the tree of life, other quality trees, treasures and presence of God in it.
However, God still would not drive Adam and Eve towards the Southern side outside the Garden when God drove them away from the Garden for disobedience or sin. Remember, God wanted them to face their death and punishment, and so God would not allow them cross to either the Northern side or the Southern side. There was only one side that was left with nothing pertaining to access to Life and access to the Garden for Adam and Eve: that was at the Western side beyond the Garden of Eden.
[1 Adam+Eve 1:7] — Wherefore God did not put Adam there, lest he should smell the sweet smell of those trees forget his transgression, and find consolation for what he had done, take delight in the smell of the trees, and not be cleansed from his transgression.
Perceiving the aroma, scents or perfumes from the Garden trees, would have healed and comforted mankind from wounds, sorrow and pains. But that would have also been contradictory to the Will of God, who deliberately increased the pains, wounds and labor of childbirth to the woman, increased sweat and sorrows till death to the man, etc. God was more interested in judging and cleansing Adam and Eve by judgment and punishment, than God was interested in their healing, prosperity and comfort. There was a knowledge of evil God wanted them to know, since they ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil in disobedience to the Word of God.
The wages of sin is death even when the gift of God is everlasting life. Fools mock at sin by think God is mocked or God forgets and overlooks sin. As it is written,
[Proverbs 14:9] — "Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favor."
[Galatians 6:7-8] — "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatever a man sows, that shall he also reap. For he that sows to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that sows to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting."
[1 Adam+Eve 1:8] — Again, also, because God is merciful and of great pity, and governs all things in a way He alone knows--He made our father Adam dwell in the western border of the garden, because on that side the earth is very broad.
Even though God drove them away from the Garden, away from the Northern side beyond the Garden, away from the Southern side beyond the Garden, but drove them away to the Western side outside the Garden — yet God was being very merciful and generous in pity to Adam and Eve.
How was God being merciful to them by that, whenGod denied them access to the Garden of Eden, to the Sea Water of Life and to refreshing Air-conditioning from the Garden of Eden? Here are the mercies of God:
- 1. Adam and Eve were not driven to the Eastern side beyond the Garden closer to the seas, which would have been worse for them. It was Cain that killed Abel that was driven away from God's presence to dwell in the land of Nod, which was in that eastern side of Eden (Genesis 4:16).
-
2. That western side outside the Garden of Eden was a very Broad place, like a large Plateau. It was a height above the lowlands or valleys beneath, and the levels were very broad and large enough to contain them in thousands and for thousands of years.
-
3. That place where God drove Adam and Eve was still close to the gate of the Garden of Eden, and not far away from the Garden, even though there was a Cherub and flaming Sword by the gate into the Garden. Meaning that place was still the Presence of God though outside the Garden. It was Cain that was driven away from the presence of God, but Adam and Eve remained in the presence of God just outside the Garden at the Western side.
[1 Adam+Eve 1:9] — And God commanded him to dwell there in a cave in a rock--the Cave of Treasures below the garden.
God still being merciful and generous to Adam and Eve, gave them a Cave in a Rock outside the Garden at the Western side. Remember God had sown coats of skins and clothed them before driving them away. God also made a cave in the rock for them when He drove them, and God commanded them to dwell or live in that cave near the garden. That was the cave of treasures just below the Garden of Eden, in the broad land, above the land of Nod.
Therefore, Adam and Eve became the first Cave men or Cave dwellers.
