Q&A 02: Did Adam Know Good From Evil?
QUESTION
Adam had no knowledge of good and evil. If he did not yet possess that knowledge, how could God hold him responsible for eating from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil?
RESPONSE
Fact One: Adam possessed knowledge of God and a lower degree of the knowledge of good and evil before he ever ate from that tree. If not anything else, at least he knew the rules "Do these or eat these;" Don't do this or don't eat this;" or "You will die the day you eat or do this, and dying is not good but painful," etc. Even a baby of four years is old enough to know what it is not supposed to do or touch by such instructions and threats, even if that baby has not known good and evil." How much more a full grown man old enough to be ruler over the world and have dominion over all earth-realm, old and skilled enough to discern and identify all land creatures in their millions, old enough to know a full grown woman's past and makeups and even old enough to be married, but somehow you make excuses that he was too infantile to understand what he was doing when he was trying to outsmart God behind His back to become like God knowing good and evil at the expense of obeying God. If not for the thing that gave them away, they would have done and achieved their rebellion's goal in secret and kept their secrets or sin from God. In this matter, never regard Adam as lacking the knowledge needed. Do not make excuses that he doesn't know what he was doing. Adam already had a conscience that drew the line between good and evil. We are talking about a man who ruled the whole world: the birds moving through the open heavens, the creatures moving in the seas, and everything moving upon the earth. Although God assigned angels to guard and minister within the Garden of God, Adam was the captain or commander responsible for dressing and keeping that Garden even over its angelic ministers and cherubim. Do not assume that the cherubim and flaming sword first appeared after Adam was expelled. They had been there before Adam sinned. Before his sin, they were subject to Adam; afterward, they became fearful to him. It takes great wisdom and knowledge to recognize and name all the animals of the ground. Adam also recognized that the woman was bone of his bones and flesh of his flesh taken from him even though he had not witnessed when or how she, or the other creatures, had been secretly formed. Simply by looking at them, he discerned hidden truths about them. In one of my recent writings, I explained that God built Adam’s intelligence from qualities taken from the clouds and angels, formed the material of his eyes from the sun, and breathed life into him directly from Himself. Never regard Adam as lacking the knowledge needed to rule the earth or oversee God’s Garden. In fact, it is safer to regard Adam as more knowledgeable before he ate the forbidden fruit than afterward. Adam was more illuminated before he ate and less illuminated after he ate. Therefore, do not let the Illuminati fool you.
