Briefing About Heaven. Good afternoon, man of God. Love you, and Jesus loves you more. I always read your notes here on Facebook. Recently, you were discussing one topic about Heaven. I ask if you would tackle it alone, and as you do that, would you please try to answer these questions.
One. What is Heaven? Two. Is it a place, authority, or level? Three. Where is it?
Four. In the current Heaven, what kind of living is there—is it physical or spiritual?
Five. Jesus parted ways with His disciples in flesh, and He went to Heaven. After the resurrection of the dead and the final judgment, what kind of living will live in the New Heaven and New Earth: physical bodies or spiritual bodies? Six. Will the New Earth be physical or spiritual? Answering the first three questions together.
There is a difference between “What is Heaven?” and “Heaven is what?” Both are questions that have different answers.
A preacher once made this statement: “God is Love, and Love is God.” But I differ from that preacher because “God is Love” does not mean “Love is God.” I see a difference between “What is Heaven?” and “Heaven is what?”
One. “What is Heaven?” God is Heaven, the Spirit of God is Heaven, the Presence of God is Heaven, and the Word of God is Heaven.
If you are in God, you are in Heaven.
Two. “Heaven is what?” Heaven is the elevated abode of God and His throne, even the dwelling place on High. Heaven is a place on High, always on High above the Earth.
It is also the centre from where every part of the entire universe or creation is controlled and supplied. You can view Heaven as the capital or headquarters of the seat of powers, glories, and all things. The entire creation is governed from Heaven.
Three. Is Heaven a place, authority, or level? Heaven is all of the above and even more. Heaven is a real place, having stones, trees, wind blowing, built houses, waters, lights, precious things far indescribable at the level of natural human minds, and unspeakable glories and wonders yet unknown to this planet or level of living on this Earth.
The things of Heaven are supernatural and far transcendental to what even the greatest mind on Earth can fathom. What a second is to those in Heaven is more than what days or even years are to a natural human. What a heavenly being can achieve in one second, a natural human may not attain in days or years. Take, for instance, the traveling speed of light, which covers millions of miles in one second. Scientists regard the speed of light as the highest speed seen by natural humans.
So, Heaven is a real place on High, not just a space or void. The evidence that Heaven is a real place includes the place where the sun and stars dwell, which is in Heaven, Genesis 1:14–18.
They are hosts of Heaven, Deuteronomy 4:19, because they dwell in Heaven.
Apart from being a real place on High, Heaven is also authority, as earlier stated: Heaven is the headquarters of the entire creation or universe. All authority is ruled by Heaven. Heaven is the Throne of God.
Apart from being a real place and authority, Heaven is also a level to the High, the Ascended, the Above, and so on. As it is written, “The heaven for height, and the earth for depth, and the heart of kings is unsearchable,” Proverbs 25:3.
Four. “Where is Heaven?” Heaven is above. Heaven is on High, up there over you, far into the height, where Heaven serves as God’s sanctuary, Psalms 102:19.
God built His storey building in Heaven, like a building with staircases or skyscrapers beyond the skies.
As it is written, “It is He that builds His stories in the heaven, and has founded His troop in the earth;
He that calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out on the face of the earth: Jehovah is His name,” Amos 9:6. Answering the last three questions together.
The answer to each of the last three questions is “Both”—spiritual and physical.
That something is spiritual does not prevent it from being physical. I think we sometimes confuse “physical” with “natural.” In my teaching, “physical” simply means visible or tangible. It does not mean everything that is physical is natural.
There are physical things that are spiritual, and there are physical things that are natural. Both Adam and Jesus were physical men when they walked this Earth because they could be touched and seen with the sight. However, although Adam was physical, he was a natural man because he was a product of the material of the Earth.
But, on the other hand, although Jesus was physical, He was a Spiritual Man because He was not of the earthen material but from Heaven.
First Corinthians 15:44–49: “It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
And so it is written, ‘The first man Adam was made a living soul;’ the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. However, that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from Heaven. As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.”
Now, the opposite of what is spiritual is what is either natural or carnal or sensual. It is the natural man who does not receive the things of the Spirit, not the physical man, First Corinthians 2:14.
I myself receive the things of the Spirit because, although I am physical, I am spiritual and not natural in spirit. I became spiritual when I was born of the Spirit of God, but I still have a natural body.
Hence, I am a spiritual man living in a natural body, waiting for when the Lord will come to change my natural body into a spiritual body called immortality or a glorified body. But until then, the Spirit of the Lord is inside this natural body, making me spiritual in heart and mind.
The sun and stars are physical because you can see them with sight, but they are not natural because they do not belong to this Earth, but to Heaven. The bodies of the sun and stars were not made from material of the Earth the way humans’ natural bodies were made of the dust of the Earth. Rather, on the contrary, the bodies of the sun and stars are celestial bodies because they were made from heavenly materials. Hence, even though they are physical, they are not natural, but supernatural.
Physical means visible or manifest. The Bible is physical, but it is also spiritual.
Those who dwell in Heaven are spiritual, but they appear to people physically or sometimes take up a physical form to manifest in a physical dimension. That does not mean they are no longer spiritual; rather, it means they moved from the invisible dimension to manifest in the visible dimension.
As the ages draw to an end, all things that were invisible shall become visible. This means all things shall come open into the physical so that all eyes shall behold what was once hidden or invisible to them.
There is nothing hidden that shall not be brought into the open.
But until then, we are not looking at the things that are seen now, but at the things that are not seen: for the things that are seen are temporary, but the things that are not seen are eternal, Second Corinthians 4:18.
Yet they shall not remain unseen in the ages to come. For even those things that are seen now were once things that were not seen before.
As it is written, “By faith we understand the worlds were created by the Word of God, in order that what is seen did not come into existence from what is visible,” Hebrews 11:3.
All things shall materialize, and the expectation of creation is waiting for its full manifestation.
