Episode Two: One Body Beyond Human Loyalties. Spiritual gifts do not protect a church that permits human loyalties to divide Christ’s Body.
One. Chapter three shows that worldly carnality can affect people who ought to be spiritual inside the Church.
A person may possess the Spirit of God and still behave carnally.
Two. Their carnality did not come from failing to receive the Spirit
or the wisdom connected with Christ’s Body.
It appeared when they divided the Body of Christ,
or attempted to divide it around men.
Three. Glorying in “men of God” is still glorying in men.
Pastors and spiritual leaders are members of Christ’s Body and temples of the Spirit;
they must never become factional centres that replace the Head.
Four. When believers organise themselves around preferred ministers,
division allows the wisdom of the world to enter the Church that is meant to function as Christ’s Body.
Five. Chapter four continues the correction: do not judge God’s servants after the flesh,
and do not judge anything before its appointed time.
Six. Each time people elevate one pastor or apostle above another, they presume to judge between God’s stewards.
Looking at faces and exercising human preference violates the order of the Body.
Seven. Only the Lord knows which servant is performing better.
He alone is qualified to announce the examination results on the final Day of Judgment.
Eight. You do not possess the right to decide which servant God must use to speak to you. God chooses His own messenger.
Receive His word without turning His stewards into rival personalities.
