Q&A 01: What Does Death Mean?
QUESTION
If someone is in hell forever and suffering there how does that equates to been dead? God told Adam "but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” Genesis chapter two, verse seventeen, N I V Satan told Eve “You will not certainly die,” Genesis chapter three, verse four, N I V Please from what Adam and Eve knew what is death? And who lied between Satan and God since Adam and Eve are now in hell forever suffering as they are not dead according to what God said?

So to answer your questions: First, Adam and Eve are no longer in hell, but delivered from hell into heaven by the Second Adam, the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord descended into Hell to save mankind beginning with saving Adam and Eve because they were the father and mother of all the living. Secondly, God told the truth while the Serpent lied — because they died indeed the day they ate of the forbidden tree. Thirdly, someone damned or condemned to suffering forever in hell is dead in all ramifications of being dead. Hell is the realm or world of the dead. Your misunderstanding of the whole meaning of the dead or death stem from your idea of what death or dead means but different from what I have been explaining. Your idea about death is being lifeless, motionless, becoming non-existing in all realms or ramifications. To you being dead means disappeared or vanished into nothingness, vanity and now non-existent. While the world and their scientists define death or the dead by those lines, those are not the meaning of the dead or death in spiritual or true reality. To Scientists means Living things are things with characteristics of living things such as in the acronym, "M R N I G E R D" or "M R S N I G E R" or "M R S C G R E N" (whichever suits your location) — Standing for M R N I G E R D means Movement, Respiration, Nutrition, Irritability, Growth, Excretion, Reproduction, Death. Anything that does or have ability for these things are called living, while the non-living things or dead things are incapable of any of them. To the Spiritual means Even Dead People still have or do M R N I G E R D means Movement, Respiration, Nutrition, Irritability, Growth, Excretion, Reproduction, Death. There is no time a human soul or person ever becomes unable to exhibit characteristics of living things. Those characteristics do not define whether a person or soul is dead or not: those characteristics only define what realm or world the person is active or passive. For example, if someone does not exhibit any of those characteristics of living things, we the spiritual do not say the person is dead, we only say he is absent (passive) in this realm but present (active) in another realm. So also, if someone is full of those characteristics of living things, we still do not say the person is alive, though the person is present in this world or realm obviously and not absent — dead people to us are people disconnected from God of Life and are fallen in sin, heading to hell. These are the true realities and definitions of the Dead, Dying or Death: To be dead simply means to be detached, be severed, be disconnected, be cast out or fall from the height, of a body's essence or source of life. It is disconnection, not disappearance, of a person from his living body or life source. I already showed from the Angel of life and death matters how Adam death's took three or more detachments or disconnection that stripped him of life while he descended into death. Adam became a dying man, which means his death was in process of dying before it completed his death about five thousand years later, unlike how Abel who died instantly because he was killed by Cain. First, let me discuss the detachment or disconnection of death with Abel before returning to Adam you asked as case study. When Cain killed Abel, Cain thought the person of Abel has disappeared forever and silenced in oblivion of nothingness the way you and other people regard dead people as non-existent anywhere. But no, Abel, the first man to ever completely die in human understanding, was still alive and living though he was dead. His soul was only detached from his body, but his blood was still alive so that if scientists had used microscope to study his blood cells anytime after he was dead in the body, they would have found his blood cells still alive or moving and exhibiting characteristics of living things. Even today, some scientists discovered that the sperm cell of a freshly dead man's body can still give life and pregnancy to egg of a woman. Bottomline, Abel, though dead in the body, was still alive, moving and speaking, though he could no longer touch physical objects or be felt by them. Back to Adam: You have heard there is "First Death" and "Second Death." Within First Death, there are levels or stages of death to complete the First death. Here are two stages of death Adam underwent: One Death of his body's incorruptible and glorious essence, and Two Death of his body's ghost and breath of life essence, about nine hundred and thirty years later. Then finally been bound in hell with chains of death in hell.
