Asking the forbidden tree: who, between God and the Serpent, was the liar concerning the eating of the forbidden tree?
“As the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, I only open people’s eyes to know what, or who, is good or evil. You can see how I opened the eyes of Adam and Eve, enabling them to recognize their nakedness, vulnerabilities, fears, and deception. They suddenly knew that the Serpent was evil, a liar, and a deceiver, even though the Serpent had been my advertiser or marketer.
“I did not hide the evilness of the Serpent, though he brought people to me. Neither did I hide the goodness of God, though He kept people away from me and made them consider me forbidden and deadly. Yes, I did not even hide the nakedness of the couple who came to me and consummated marriage with me before they consummated marriage with one another.
“My job has been to infuse the knowledge of good and evil into the eyes of those who have my seed-bearing fruit mixed within them. If you are still unable to tell who is your friend and who is your enemy, or who, between God and the Devil, is lying, come and eat my seed-bearing fruit again. Then I will open your eyes to know good and evil.”
