DEATH, ADAM & REDEMPTION
Q&A 03: Did Christ Descend Into Sheol to Save Mankind?
QUESTION
Quote where the Bible says: Jesus descended to hell to save mankind beginning with Adam.
RESPONSE
As to question two Adam and Eve were among the pre-Noah's flood generations of people in Sheol, to whom the Lord Jesus Christ descended into Hell or Sheol to preach the Gospel. First Peter chapter three, verses eighteen to twenty, L B P — "For Christ also once suffered for our sins, a just Man for sinners, that He might bring you to God, wherefore while He died in the flesh, He lives in the Spirit. And He preached to the souls imprisoned in Sheol; Those who in the past were disobedient; and in the days of Noah, when the Spirit of God had patience, He commanded an ark to be made in the hope of their repentance, but only eight souls entered into it, and were saved by it floating upon the water." And Adam and Eve were among the saints that rose from the dead by death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. And when He, the Lord Jesus was lifted up in ascending, He drew all men He saved from Hell to Him and with Him in the Heavenly City, including Adam and Eve. John chapter twelve, verses thirty-two to thirty-three, Matthew chapter twenty-seven, verses fifty to fifty-three, Isaiah chapter twenty-six, verse nineteen. When the Lord Jesus descended into Hell, He led Captivity captive, but set the captives who believed in Him free: and On ascending He drew all those souls or spirits with Him from Hell or Sheol onto unto the Holy Mountain of God in Heaven. Psalms chapter sixty-eight, verse eighteen, Ephesians chapter four, verses eight to ten.
