Episode Five: Stand at the Seat, Refuse the Table. Spiritual courage knows where to stand and where never to dine.
One. First Corinthians 10:21 declares, “You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of devils;
you cannot partake of the Lord’s Table and the table of devils.”
Two. A table becomes the Lord’s table or the devil’s table not because of the material used to construct it,
but because of who prepared it.
Whether golden,
wooden, or local,
its maker and spiritual source determine its identity.
Three. Scripture speaks of a church dwelling where Satan’s seat is,
but never of Christ’s Church dining at Satan’s table.
Four. Satan’s seat can still become a territory where the Church of Christ stands faithfully for the Lord.
Revelation 2:13.
Five. But the Church must never become a participant at Satan’s table,
lest she provoke the Lord to jealousy.
First Corinthians 10:21–22.
Six. We do not dine with the devil,
but we take our chances by standing in the territory of the devil’s seat for the glory of the Lord.
Presence in contested territory is not fellowship with its table.
Seven. Remember the first meal the devil persuaded the woman to eat: the forbidden fruit resulted in death.
Discern the preparer before approaching the table, and never trade the Lord’s cup for food whose source is the devil.
