DANIEL 2:26

The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, “Are you able to make known to me the dream which I have seen, and its interpretation?” [NKJV]

The king asked Daniel (also called Belteshazzar), “Are you really able to tell me what my dream was, and what it means?” [FBV]

Beware of People's Titles, Names, Accolades, Pride and Praises, Before your Performance in Their Presence

Pay attention! For in this Bible verse above, the Lord is helping us see two traps that was set up for Daniel to swap "Authorship" or "Glory" away from the God of heaven and earth to 1 of 2 beings:

*1* The Trap of setting up Daniel with Daniel's other name or title, "Belteshazzar."

*2* The Trap of setting up Daniel with Daniel's self-glory by the way the king's question was framed.

The fact was after Arioch told the king what Daniel could do, the king still asked Daniel directly whether he could do those things Arioch the captain just told him Daniel could do, after the Babylonian name given to Daniel, Belteshazzar, was first invoked. The answer of Daniel to this king's question in the Bible verse above was pressumed to either go in way of ascribing to the god or idol in that name "Belteshazzar" or to Daniel's self-glory.

However, in the subsequent verses, we found how Daniel wisely shifted the "Authorship" or "Ascribing" to the God of heaven and earth, the Revealer of secret, after Daniel dismissed any ability in man or other gods known to the king from the possibly detailing the king's secret dream and interpretation of it.

What has reminding us the other name Daniel was called, Belteshazzar, got to do with the question that king was asking Daniel that moment?

We must be careful with "Chieftaincy Titles,"  "Professional Titles," and "Praises of men," especially when those precede the performance they expect from you to perform or do immediately. When men begins to hype you, especially immediately you are to minister or perform to them something supernatural or miraculous, first address or disappoint the voices of their hyping, titling or praises, before you do your performance.

That name, "Belteshazzar" was basically the name after the god of Nebuchadnezzar, and to prove "Belteshazzarwas indeed the name after the god of Nebuchadnezzar, the king himself said:

[Daniel 4:8 FBV] — In the end Daniel came before me and I told him the dream. (He is also called Belteshazzar after my god, and he has the spirit of the holy gods in him.)

Imagine if after hyping Daniel with that name/title that redirects Authorship to Bel, a god of Nebuchadnezzar in Babylon, Daniel did not correct that or acknowledge the true God of heaven and earth who reveals secret as the Author of the revelation he was about to share, wouldn't it be considered by the ignorant that his source or Inspiration was from that gods/idol in his hyped name/title?

Someone called the Lord Jesus, "Good Master," before asking Him a certain question. (As Daniel was called by certain title, before he was asked certain question). But the Lord Jesus Christ first corrected the man for hyping Him with the title "Good," when he should have ascribe "Good" to no man but to God in heaven alone. Then He performed or did what the man asked of Him.

But what if that question the king asked Daniel was rephrased to this, "Are you an Oneirologist?"

In science outside being spiritual, an oneirologist is a specialist or expert in the field of oneirology, which is the scientific study of dreams. Oneirologists study the various aspects of dreams, including their content, symbolism, interpretation, and the physiological processes that occur during dreaming. Oneirology is a multidisciplinary field that draws insights from psychology, neuroscience, anthropology, and other related disciplines. Oneirologists may use different approaches and methods, such as analyzing dream symbols, studying dream narratives, and conducting experiments to unravel the mysteries of dreams. Some specific areas of study in oneirology may include dream analysis, dream psychology, lucid dreaming, dream disorders, dream interpretation, and the relationship between dreams and mental health.
