DANIEL 2:8

The king answered and said, I know of certainty that you would gain the time, because you see the thing is gone from me. [AKJV]

The king answered and said, “I know for certain that you would gain time, because you see that my decision is firm: [Daniel 2:8 NKJV]

The "Thing" here that's gone from the king connotes the "Word" of a king. And this is written concerning such Word:

[Ecclesiastes 8:4‭-‬7 NKJV] — Where the word of a king is, there is power; And who may say to him, “What are you doing?” He who keeps his command will experience nothing harmful; And a wise man’s heart discerns both time and judgment, Because for every matter there is a time and judgment, Though the misery of man increases greatly. For he does not know what will happen; So who can tell him when it will occur?

This Bible reference covers much in the Bible verse above:

*1* Nebuchadnezzar was the king, and the word of the king had gone forth from him.

*2* The Chaldeans were disagreeing with him, indirectly challenging him or not keeping his Command; and they were about to experience harmful or feel evil thing.

*3* For to the matter, there was both "Time and Judgment."

*4* The Time they were trying to gain on that matter was to be Judgment to the king, (he being afraid the time himself), but the time king would not allow them to gain over him in that matter was to be Judgment upon them. Have you not seen how gaining or losing Time frustrated Court Judgment — and people say, "Justice Delayed is Justice Denied?"
