EZEKIEL 2:2
Then the Spirit entered me when He spoke to me, and set me on my feet; and I heard Him who spoke to me. [Ezekiel 2:2 NKJV]
And as He spoke to me, the Spirit entered me and set me on my feet, and I heard Him speaking to me. [BSB]
When God instructed the Son of man to stand upon his feet for God to speak with him in that awesome Presence of God, He was not expecting Ezekiel to stand by his own power but by the Spirit or Grace of God. By human strength, no man who has fallen down under the Power in God's manifest Presence can stand up again, unless by Help. For the same things that made you fall down there are still there to keep you fallen unless the Lord God sends a Word, Spirit or Angel, to strengthen, empower or raise you up in such terrific Presence.
I recall the man of God that had experience to some degree what it meant to stand before the Throne of the Lord and face Judgment. He testified that the only reason he could stand in His Presence while his life was being reviewed in Judgment was because the Spirit of God was mighty upon him to keep him standing and steady; and that it was there and then he really understood the Spirit of God as "Comforter" or "Helper." For while being that close to God in His manifest Presence was indescribably unbearable to him, the immense Spirit of God upon him was relieving comfortable to degrees he never knew or experienced before.
In the Bible verse above, the Spirit of God entered Ezekiel that was fallen, and caused Ezekiel to stand up on his feet to hear God. Remember that Ezekiel saw all he saw about the visions of God without the Spirit entering him first before dreaming dreams or seeing visions, for he had the spirit of a prophet in him to enable all he saw. But when God began speaking, Ezekiel's strength of his spirit was exhausted, and then to even stand and hear God required he receiving the Spirit of God upon him to keep him upright on his feet.
Seeing God Himself and seeing visions themselves are not the end to needing the Spirit of God upon you; neither are prophesying and speaking as the Spirit gave you utterance all the Spirit of God is needed for. There's the need for the Spirit of God to help your "Standing" and "Hearing" God. You may be hearing God speaking without Hearing God indeed: this is about "Perception and Understanding." His Sheep are those who "Hear Him" well. At the end, the outcome of who you become would depend on how well you have been hearing or listening to He who is speaking.
[Luke 8:18] — "Take heed therefore how you hear: for whoever has, to him shall be given; and whoever has not, from him shall be taken even that which he seems to have."
The parable of the Seeds by the Sower illustrates six different categories of how people hear the Word of God:
*1* Those who hear God speaking, but later the birds or devils come and remove the Word of God from them, and they forget.
*2* Those who hear God speaking, but later pressures, heat, hardship, suffering, harden them against God's Word they heard.
*3* Those who hear God speaking, but later cares, acquisitions or possessions, of this world gradually crucify God's Word they heard.
*4* Those who hear God speaking, but with thirty percent attention and commitment to the Word of God they heard.
*5* Those who hear God speaking, but with sixty percent attention and commitment to the Word of God they heard.
*6* Those who hear God speaking, but with full Hundred percent attention and commitment to the Word of God they heard.
So it's possible that even in seeing visions, someone would not see; and in hearing the Lord Himself, someone would not hear.
[Matthew 13:13 FBV] — That's why I speak to them in illustrations. For even though they see, they don't see; and even though they hear, they don't hear; nor do they understand.
