№ 1. Observe and see how (in the winter) all the trees seem as though they had withered and shed all their leaves, except fourteen trees, which do not lose their foliage but retain the old foliage from two to three years until the new comes.
[1 Enoch 3:1] — Observe and see how (in the winter) all the trees seem as though they had withered and shed all their leaves, except fourteen trees, which do not lose their foliage but retain the old foliage from two to three years until the new comes.
A call for mankind to observe what the heavens themselves observe:
You may know a tree by its fruit (Luke 6:44). You may also know seasons and times by the fruits of certain trees, as Joseph interpreted the Cupbearer's dream or as the Lord Jesus gave in parable (Luke 21:29-31). However, we are not dwelling on fruits here but on foliage here. Observing "Foliage" apart from "Fruit" of a tree became another way for readers and interpreters of signs and seasons.
Some great Wonders of God at which the scientists of this world marvel are found in the contents, configuration, properties, activities, matters and mechanisms, of Leaves and Foliages of Trees/plants. These include in how the Leaves grow up fresh|beautiful and eventually dies like human beings do, how the Leaves convert energies within them and produce their own food in photosynthesis, how the Leaves breathe in carbondioxide and exhale oxygen, the beauties (makeups) and glories in the Leaves and Flowers, how the water contained within those Leaves cannot be frozen (turned into ice block) by any freezer while the water is within those Leaves, etc. More importantly, no scientists have been able to reproduce or recreate physically a true Leaf or Grass of any natural Tree, even with all the technologies of mankind.
In that book of Enoch, within the reviewed lines, I began to marvel at how the same winter that had so much impact on the Leaves of almost all Trees in the world, had none impact on the Leaves of 14 Trees. Those 14 Trees are the "Evergreen Trees", unlike the 'Deciduous Trees."
№ 1— "Evergreen Trees" are the 14 Trees that have their Leaves not subject to seasons, weather or climate of the year because they are immune to weather effects or prevailing winter until their Foliage is exhausted, which means their lifespan or time span over in two or three years.
№ 2— "Deciduous Trees" are the rest of the Trees that have their Leaves subject to seasons, weather or climate of the year because they are not immune to weather effects or prevailing winter since their Foliage is short span, which means their lifespan is just few seasons or less than a year and not beyond the next winter.
So why is it that what destroyed the leaves of other (deciduous) trees by the winter, only built the leaves of 14 (evergreen) trees?
It's basically the results from the strength and endurance of their Foliages. The 14 evergreen trees have their Foliages strong enough to sustain their Leaves in greenery, vitality and life for 2 or 3 years. The deciduous trees do not have such foliage that may last an entire year and still sustain those leaves in relevance and greenery without needing replacement or renewal.
It's like a man ate a food that could carry and sustain him through 40 days walking across the wilderness, while the other man ate food that could barely sustain him for 6 hours in a day. A camel could go days across deserts with drinking water, but a dog could not endure that. A house built on a rock could endure the rains, storm and quakings, but another house built on sand with no true foundation would not endure, and thus fell.
The Sower scattered the seeds: Those that fell on rocky grounds received the Word seed with joy but had no root or depth of endurance in them for the word of the kingdom to sustain across the changing/challenging seasons: thus, at the rising of the heat seasons or winter dryness, their Foliages dried/died. Behold those who received the Word seed in good ground, and endured.
What if the tribulation would last only 7 years, splitted into 3½ years twice, and you are like a Tree planted by the rivers of waters, whose Leaf never dries nor Foliage ever spent? (Psalms 1:1-6). What if you are not such a man tree, and your tree easily dries in reacting to the conditions/challenges befalling you?
[Luke 23:31 BSB'19] — "For if men do these things while the tree is green, what will happen when it is dry?”"
The maximum lifespan of a natural Tree's Leaf does not exceed 3 years before it's replaced or cut off from the tree. 3 years therefore is legally adopted for turning uncircumcised fruits (forbidden fruits) of tree into circumcised fruits (edible fruits) of the tree, because that's the maximum lifespan of a Tree's Foliage. You see how the lifespan of a Tree's Leaf impacted the edibility of the Tree's Fruit in the Law of the Promised Land? If it's the forbidden fruit (uncircumcised fruit), you may wait for three years after you planted the tree and then the forbidden fruit becomes edible and the uncircumcised fruit becomes circumcised to you.
[Leviticus 19:23-26 BSB'19] — "When you enter the land and plant any kind of tree for food, you shall regard the fruit as forbidden. For three years it will be forbidden to you and must not be eaten. In the fourth year all its fruit must be consecrated as a praise offering to the LORD. But in the fifth year you may eat its fruit; thus your harvest will be increased. I am the LORD your God. You must not eat anything with blood still in it. You must not practice divination or sorcery."
[Luke 13:6-7 BSB'19] — "Then Jesus told this parable: “A man had a fig tree that was planted in his vineyard. He went to look for fruit on it, but did not find any. So he said to the keeper of the vineyard, ‘Look, for the past three years I have come to search for fruit on this fig tree and haven’t found any. Therefore cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?’"
Enoch taught you to observe the Trees' Foliage, and the Lord Jesus Christ taught to observe the Grass and Flowers of the Field that do not sow|spin and yet your Father in Heaven clothed them in glory beyond Solomon knew, even though their lifespan may not exceed a day [Luke 12:27-28]. Get the messages in both.
